The Meaning of Life

Some people think I'm a "cheesy hopeless romantic". Others think I'm a jerk.
I've created this blog to share my thoughts on LIFE. I'll share my views on experiences, current events, and relationships. I'll write about my strengths, weaknesses, wins, and failures. This blog may be romantic, inspirational, and/or offensive. Don't be stupid: subscribe.

In this, my first entry, I present my answer to the ever-intriguing question: "What is the meaning of life?"...

LIFE.
My Mother lends me a lot of books. She rarely gets them back. Partly because I'm terrible at borrowing, but mostly because I don't "read books" (I was born in the 80's).
Yesterday, I had a chance to crack one of these books open (Manifesting Change, by Mike Dooley). In the Introduction, Dooley grabbed my attention... he wrote something I've always believed.
Mike says, "The meaning of life is to live it. To be here. To follow our hearts. Nothing has to happen, and there is no one we're supposed to be than ourselves. There's nothing we're supposed to do."

I believe we are here on this planet at this time to live our lives, and follow our dreams. It's easy to idle... to get stuck in comfortable and safe situations. And, it's okay if you do, as long as you're happy. But, I hope that you won't ever let your life circumstances make you believe that you're trapped, that you can't follow your heart, strive toward your dreams. You can. You always can.

I've always reminded myself that I am going to die. This helps. Because I can't imagine a greater sense of failure than taking my last breath, knowing that I didn't do everything in my power to achieve my goals.

That would be the ultimate "EPIC FAIL".
